Updates, lots of updates

Well, so far I've brought my grandfather away to crematorium. It was a beautiful ceremony. I've removed the furniture from his house and put it in storage, I've sold his tools to someone who will use them. I've torn apart most of the old toolshed as the buildingcorporation wants it removed.

So far I'm slowly wanting this to be over, but there's still a lot to do.

Bad news about my grandfather.

Yesterday evening, the time approx. 20:00, my grandfather died in his sleep, sitting on the couch.

This morning I got a call from his neighbour who had found him. Gramps had been a heartpatient, his death isn't much of a surprise, but it's a
terrible loss for me as I'm now the only one left of this side of the family.

My grandfather was a special man.He taught me how to use a sewingmachine, he taught me about sheet metal crafting and most importantly taught me about life.

He will be cremated on friday the 26th of august.

Gonna miss you, gramps.

Some Second Life friends need help

Second Life makes a good part of my life, but now the owners of the sim I live in are facing some difficulties. Probably like most major sims, but I really like these people, so I promised them to send out this message:

"Okay. In a twist of irony--just when things I've waited for SL to fix, are slowly being fixed--Mitch is being placed on furlow for a short time without RL pay. We have to admit we can not hold on to Adelebsen by ourselves.

I will send a notice to our subscribo group. So no one can say "we wish we'd known" We need 500L donations from 75 people. Each month through October!

If we are funded by the 13th we'll go on to the next month. If not the 20th will be the end.

Thank you for all your friendships :)"

The sim is called Adelebsen Isle. It's a PG-rated shoppingsim. This is the website: http://www.adelebsenisle.com/

The sim can be found her http://world.secondlife.com/region/.....5-fbfc310b78f8

There will be tipjars on the sim where you can donate some L$.

I've been called an egoist today. By my lovely little neighbour that I go shopping with every thursday. First things first. I live what you can call a "connected" life. I almost always have my phone with me, my PC runs approx. 10 hours a day, I have E-mail, Skype, MSN and LJ. Now, when I go cycling I can use the peace and quiet that I so desperately need so I leave my phone home.

This I told my neighbour during a conversation and she finds me "egoistic" because gramps or she can call and I'm not reachable. Bare with me: when my grandfather got hit by a car, his neighbour called me three (!) days after he got hit that he was in the hospital. Gramps isn't the fastest man anymore.

Now, my neighbour has the audacity of accusing ME, yes ME, of the fact that my grandfathers neighbour could reach me only after 3 days. While I had NOTHING to do with that!

Anyway, after her accusing me of that, the fuses in my brain that hadn't been blown did finally and I got very angry. I left her talking to somebody down below, got in the elevator, pushed every button so she would have to wait a bit more, then went home.

Three minutes later: DING DONG! Neighbour at the door, laughing hysterically. My neckhair, if I still had them, rose up, told her to go away, she went laughing "no no" and then I did it. SLAMmed the door in her face and yelled at her at the top of my lungs to GET THE F*** AWAY from me.

Man man man, I have done that before and she came asking me for an appology and I did that. WHAT was I thinking. I hope she stays away now.

Name change!

Yep, I finally did it. I've changed my name from my Second Life name to the name that most people recognise easier. Dezy Barthelmess has become Barney Husky.

The clouds!

They brought nothing! Well, just not what I expected really. North of me there was lightning, as well as south, but nothing that I could see. And there was a little bit of rain, barely noticable. Better luck next time.
